Vermont has a wealth of non-profit, membership, and advocacy organizations that are making great progress in increasing agricultural and food system literacy, linking consumers to local producers, improving farm viability, and stimulating local markets.

Intervale Center: A nonprofit organization whose mission is to develop farm- and land-based enterprises that generate economic and social opportunity while protecting natural resources.

Northeast Organic Farmers Association-Vermont: Offers workshops, conferences, and training for organic and sustainable farmers. The NOFA-VT web site includes a statewide list of organic farms, farm stands, CSAs, and farmers’ markets.

Vermont Agency of Agriculture – Finding Local Food: A comprehensive listing of localvore groups, other local food directories, and resources.

Vermont Food Education Every Day (VT-FEED): Integrates local foods into Vermont schools, connecting classroom, community, and cafeteria.

Vermont Fresh Network: Encourages partnerships among farmers, food producers, and chefs, and educates the dining public about the value of Vermont grown foods, as well as the economic impact of supporting local businesses.
